age 53, Pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church in Chardon and St. Patrick Catholic Church in Thompson. Cherished son of Brian M. (wife Karen) and the late Joan Marie (nee Flemming); dearest brother of Karen Redmond (husband Craig Loudermelt) and Mark (wife Jennifer); treasured uncle of Cpt. John-Connor, US Army (wife Cailynn) and Cullen; dear uncle, cousin and friend of many. US Air Force Chaplain. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Fr. Dan to St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Patrick Catholic Church or Catholic Charities. The wake will begin on Thursday, May 13, 2021 in St. Mary Church, 401 North St., Chardon, Ohio, 44024 at 3 PM with Vespers and will continue until 8 PM. Bishop Martin J. Amos will be the presider and Fr. Daniel Schlegel will be the homilist. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, May 14, 2021, in St. Mary Church at 11 AM. Bishop Edward C. Malesic will be the main celebrant and Father Michael Gurnick will be the homilist. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery, Valley City. All Services will be LIVESTREAMED. Sorry to hear the loss of Father Dan.He was so dedicated to St.Mary’s church.We lost a kind stellar shepherd to lead his flock of parishioners ,he will be missed.He is now with his Boss GOD.

The last time I saw Danny was 35 years ago. Mark and I became close friends in high school and that's when I also got to know Danny and the entire Redmond Family. I most prominent memory of Danny was how he had now flies so to speak on him. He was simply a very good kid which from what I understand I carried that goodness into manhood. Rest easy Danny!

We were so sorry to hear of the death of 'Fr. Dan. Father did his internship at St. Brendan, in North Olmsted, where he was loved my everyone. I was the receptionist there at the time and was blessed to have known him. Our prayers go out to the family.

Father Dan Redmond epitomized the Shepherd leading his flock. St. Mary and St. Patrick lost their pastor way too early. Thank you for your militarily service, dedication to the Catholic Church and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Fr. Dan married my husband and I over 20 years ago at St. Vincent de Paul. He also baptized our two oldest children. I am so sorry to learn of his passing. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends. I will hold dear my fond memories of Fr. Dan.

We knew his parents Brian and Joan for many years and met Father Dan while he was at St. Vincent de Paul. He was a kind and gentle person. Our deep condolences go out to his family.
