She fought for so many years for others and still had enough strength to fight her failing health. She left her mark on many as their pastor, but to me she was just Grandma. I can hear her saying "what a mighty God we serve!" on the days when she felt "pretty good". On the days when she felt "fair" or fatigue, I would read to her or try to convince her to take just one more bite.

In my adulthood, we became closer as she would tell me stories of her younger days. I would bring her the snack of her choice and she would tell me "all her business" as she would put it. When I would be shocked by some of her tales, she would jokingly tell me "I wasn't always the pastor".

It was always funny when she would make me sit next to her every Thanksgiving so she could pinch me under the table for all of my flip remarks. I will miss her laugh, I will miss reading to her, but most of all I will miss her stories.

Grandma, I'm happy that you're now at rest and pain free in God's arms. Please kiss my mommy for me and tell her I love her. Rest in Peace
