Brandie Kajino Obituary

BRANDIE MICHELLE (PLANTE) KAJINO
December 20, 1973 ~ November 1, 2016

Brandie Michelle (Plante) Kajino, 42, died at home in Vancouver, Washington, November 1, 2016, from pancreatic cancer. She was a loving mother, wife, also known as a professional organizer, early tech adopter and for making real food accessible, she was an Evernote ambassador, writer, podcaster and speaker.
A Rotary youth exchange student, Brandie spoke fluent Japanese and was blessed to marry the love of her life, Hiro Kajino, February 18, 1995. Her greatest joy was being the mother of Tony Kajino, who "brightens my life and teaches me more than I teach him." Whether it was cheering for him at swim meets or for his scholastic and musical accomplishments, she celebrated how hard Tony worked, always encouraging him to do his best.
Brandie used humor and eye-blinding enthusiasm to connect, teach and guide others. Passionately focused and curious, she inspired people to laugh and to change their corners of the world. By simply being herself she Inspired us all to show up, to be present and to be brave.
She loved dirty martinis (extra olives, please), singing gospel, Ina Garten, pears, chocolate cake, cold brew coffee, The West Wing, Mason jars and the Farmer's Market. We loved her homemade scones, her contagious laughter, her sass and her tender heart. We will always admire her commitment to living her truth with intention and strength.
In lieu of attending a memorial service, her husband and beloved son invites you to honor Brandie's memory by participating in a project she and her husband began several years ago: Shine Where You Are, consider volunteering for an hour or performing an act of kindness to bring a smile to someone's face, the way Brandie brightened the lives of those around her. We would share your good deeds and inspire others, please share at https://www.facebook.com/TeamKajino/

Not sure what to say?

Brandi,
I have only happy and engaging ELI memories of sharing work, lunch and the occasional happy hour with you and Hiro. Though I did a poor job of keeping in touch since then, your impression is lasting.

Ummmmmm.... Ya!!!
I knew the first day I met Brandie in the ELI HR office that she was someone I could definitely be friends with. Brandie always had a special sparkle and just a way about herself. I'm so blessed to have had many fun years working with her. Hiro too. I'm so proud of all the amazing things the Kajino family have accomplished together... I used to tease her about having more children because her and Hiro had such a strong, loving and fun relationship. Having more children would do this world a huge favor! :) Tony is a perfect mix of the two of them. Mucho love being sent.... ♡♡♡

My Friend who made sitting on a metal bleacher for hours on end to see our kids swim for less than 5 minutes.. bearable. I will miss the laughter, the chats, and the friendship.

I am so sorry for your loss. I co-taught a workshop with Brandie once and we enjoyed a cup of tea together one other time. Her passion for words, life, food, her family, shone through. You were all in my thoughts and in my prayers during the long days of her illness. I will carry the legacy you ask for in my heart. The world needs her kindness, reflected in each of us. God bless.
