DERRAL DEAN MOSBY
August 29, 1955 ˜ July 1, 2020

Derral Dean Mosby of Ridgefield, WA died July 1, 2020 in Ridgefield, WA. He was born Aug. 29, 1955 in Cottage Grove, OR.
Derral lived his entire life a true representative of the Cowboy Code. Virtually born in the saddle on the Mosby Family Century Farm he was a successful sheep & cattle rancher, all around champion rodeo cowboy and well respected cattleman. The only thing he loved more than his much beloved Registered Horned Hereford show cattle was his family.
Derral is survived by his wife of nearly 47 years, Tomi Mosby; daughter, Staci De Jong (Jerry) Lebanon, OR; “Poppy” to grandchildren, Trevor & McKenzie Turner (Battle Ground), Taylor & Logan De Jong (Lebanon, OR) and Dawsyn Mosby (Centralia, WA).
He was preceded in death by sons, Derral K. & Chance; and daughter, Lacy.
Friend and mentor to many, Derral was truly a one of a kind, irreplaceable man, taken from us suddenly and far too soon.
A Celebration of Life will be held July 18 at 1pm on the ranch, as he would have wanted.

I remember a great smile, funny sense of humor, and bow legs! That was back in junior high, when at 14, Derral could find the fun in everything. I ran into him at our 45th reunion, and was so glad to find he was still a cowboy. Tomi, and Staci, we will see him again. In the meantime, I bet he's seeing heaven on horseback! Happy Trails, Derral!

I met Derral about 32 years ago. Started out as a co worker and become good friends. I learned alot about cattle from him.
Every time I hear the saying " I am sorry for what I said when we were sorting cattle" I always think of him, even though I don't think he ever apologized!
Derral touched the lives of many people in his travels, and will truley be missed!

One of Clark Countys best Cowboy, Cattleman and Friend. If you asked him a question you always got an answer, just might have been the one you wanted. He will be greatly missed.

Im so very sorry for your loss. I knew your Dad, Staci, as a young cowboy when his Mom, Adina, was our advisor while running for Rodeo Queen in Cottage Grove in 1964. What a great family & what a great guy!

Oh Dad! How is this real? I am in a state of panic thinking I need to wake up from a bad dream. I love you more than you will ever know!
