I met Howard back in 1978 when I was 14 years old. I was outside playing one on SE 139th Ave in Cascade Park when I heard, "Hey kid do you want to earn some money" and I said sure, doing what and he said mow grass and weed at the apartment complex he owned near my house. He even used to take me out to his house in his old red station wagon to help him do things. I moved to Camas in 1998 and realized the house where we live now is just down the road from his house in Winchester Hills. Whenever I would drive by his house during spring and summer he would be tending to his garden so I would stop by and have a long chat with him. Howard was a great man and a friend of mine for many many years. I was sad to hear of his passing but glad that I met him all those years ago as a kid. RIP Howard.

I met Howard late last summer when he was tending his beautiful garden. My husband and I were having trouble finding zucchini for our relish so we stopped and I asked Howard if he had any I could buy. He gave me two perfect sized zucchini along with some delicious tomatoes...and he wouldn't take a dime for them.
A week later, I took him a jar of relish and some zucchini bread. He was so gracious, invited me into his home and gave me a tour. I thoroughly enjoyed the two times I had a chance to talk with him and was so sad to read of his passing. Even though our meetings were brief, I could tell he was a kind hearted gentleman. I will always think of him whenever we pass by his garden. My sympathies to his family. May you hold your memories of him near to your heart as that will always keep him close.

Howard and Mary live on the next street over from me and my backyard borders their property. I always enjoyed chatting with Howard (and Mary too) over the back fence and seeing the beautiful garden they put in every year. My condolences to Mary and the rest of the family. He was a good man.

I knew Howard through the mortgage industry. He was a true friend for over 20 years. He was the kindest and most giving man I knew. My sincere condolences to his entire family.

I closed loans for Howard 20 years ago. I loved that man. I was just asking a friend if she had seen him lately. Really wanted to make it to the funeral, but can't. He was a wonderful human being. My condolences to the entire family.

Steve. Sorry to hear about your Dads passing. If he was anything like you, he must have been a wonderful man. You take care and stay safe. From your telephone man from many years past.
