Ken was an army friend of mine, we met at Ft Wolters, Texas, and deployed through Ft Lewis to Nha Trang, Vietnam, in the summer of 1965 with Det 4, 3rd Radio Research Unit (US Army Security Agency) After a few months, we were transferred up north to Phu Bai (8th RRU). He was a very good friend, an excellent soldier, and we are the lesser for his passing. Stand down, soldier, and muster with the Angels....

I grew up with Ken and the Wanke family attending the Glenwood school together. Ken was one of those childhood friends who was hard to forget. Fondest memories come from walking to and from school together along what is now 87th Ave; coats thrown in ant hills and books floating under the culvert near the Folkerts. After Glenwood, Ken and I traveled in different circles but we always had that connection. Thanks for the memories.
