ROSALIE FRANCES (SEXTON) EDWARDS
March 16, 1941 ~ December 16, 2017
Rosalie Frances (Sexton) Edwards went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 16, 2017. She was born in Bedford, IA on March 16, 1941 to Francis and Margaret (Heatherington) Sexton. She grew up in Wishram, WA, graduated from Wishram High School in 1959, and received two Associate in Applied Science degrees from Clark College in 1998 and 2000.
Rosalie worked in Vancouver, WA, and retired as a substance use counselor. In her later years, Rosalie resided in Pullman, WA with her husband during the summer months, and traveled to Yuma, AZ during the winter, where she had many friends, and continued to enjoy life to the fullest.
Rosalie and Steve were members of the Good Sam RV Club for many years - traveling throughout Washington, Oregon and Alaska. She enjoyed the outdoors. Some of her pastimes include volkswalking, camping, fishing, gardening and bird watching. She also had a very creative side. She enjoyed painting, quilting, knitting, crocheting and sewing. One of her favorite activities was playing mahjong with family and close friends, while living in Vancouver and Yuma. She also was a devout and loyal fan of the Seattle Mariners and Seattle Seahawks.
Simply put, Rosalie loved people: she had a great amount of love for her family; was always encouraging of her children; always proud of her grandchildren, and adored her great-grandchildren.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Gordon Sexton (survived by spouse Sally Sexton of Kennewick, WA).
Rosalie is survived by her husband, Steve Edwards of Pullman, WA/Yuma, AZ; brother, David Sexton of Vancouver, WA; and sister, Becky Quinn (Jim Quinn-spouse) of Vancouver, WA. She is also survived by her four children: Joe Locke of Vancouver, WA, DeAnna (Locke) Davis of Arvada, CO, (Ray Davis-spouse), Cathy (Locke) McKiernan of Pullman, WA, (Roger McKiernan-spouse) and Selena (Locke) Castro of Vancouver, WA, (George Castro-spouse). Her pride and joy was being blessed with 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to either the American Heart Association, or the American Cancer Society.
