Steve Sorensen, 74, passed away peacefully on the morning of July 8, 2020. He was the husband/widower of Jan Sorensen. They shared 32 years of marriage together. Steve was born Nov. 28, 1945 in Salina, Utah, son of Van and Isabell Sorensen.
He attended Mt. Hood Community College where he graduated with honors in 1973 with a degree as both Funeral Director and Embalmer.
After a career of over 20 years, he retired from Pearson-Allen-Caldwell Funeral Home, where he was a partner in the business and a
Member of the Oregon Funeral Directors Assoc.
He loved snow skiing, reading and was a big fan of history. He loved a good conversation and had a fun and quirky sense of humor.
He is survived by his sister, Vanna (Tom) Price; sister, Rebecca (David) Nelsen; step daughter, Kim (Curtis) Aborn; step son, Jeff (Renee) Gilman; 6 grandchildren:
Reese, Lauren, Travis, Jaelyn, Hannah and Emily; and 3 great grandchildren: Lydia, Abbie and Walter.
The funeral will be a graveside service and vault interment for family/friends on July 15, 2020 at 2pm at: Gardner/Hayes Cemetary, Woodland, WA. The viewing/visitation will be on July 14, 2020 from 6:30pm-8:30pm at: Layne’s Funeral Home, Battle Ground, WA.

Steve was one of the finest gentleman I have had the privilege to know and work with. He helped train me during my apprenticeship 46 years ago over the years he has been a true friend.
