Dovie Emma Gates Ables, age 80, of Franklin, TN passed away May 8, 2017. Born and grew up in Whiteville, TN then moved to Huntsville, AL to raise her family. She later moved to Franklin to be closer to her family. Preceded in death by parents, Benjamin Douglass and Mary Cornelia Powell Gates and sister, Marietta Gates. Survived by: daughters, Dara Ables and Ashley Ables; granddaughter, Madison Ferguson; sisters, Betty Teicher, Martha Gates and Cornelia Gates and nephew, Douglass Duhamel. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Memorial services will be at a later date.
