Gerald's positive approach to business made for a great place to work for my dad in the 1970s and 80s. Because he was so enjoyable working with, it led to some family style gatherings outside the office. It's very obvious that Gerald viewed life with unbound optimism. I remember his plaid pants he wore to sporting events - just so you know that you can't wear stylish 70s style plaid pants without a smile beaming from your face - Gerald's warm reassuring smile.

Gerald's wonderful spirit was displayed so effortlessly and became contagious for people in his circles. He had the gift to make tasks seem assuredly simple. I fondly remember Geralds passion for the LSU Tigers, his signature gumbo, and darling bride, Miner. Gerald is an amazing American that lived a fantastic American life - Thanks for showing us the way and sharing with us your great American recipe. I only hope you shared that gumbo recipe too. Go Tigers Sincerely, Larry, son of friend and coworker Paul Ladd.
