This message is to Ellen and her family.

I first served with Bill Durham on the submarine USS MEDREGAL SS480 in the late 50's, and then we were both transferred to the USS BLUEBACK SS581 which was being built in Pascagoula, MS. We were more than just shipmates, we also became best of friends through our service in the US Navy and shared experiences off the boats.

Bill was an avid pilot that loved to fly small planes. Shortly after we arrived in Pascagoula, Bill convinced me that I should learn to fly, so we bought a small plane and he trained me to fly. I got my solo license, and we enjoyed flying our plane in afternoons and weekends.

Lucy and I shared many times together with Bill and his two boys, Many years later we met Ellen and it felt like we had known her forever. It's no wonder why Bill loved this lady as much as he did. She was a God send for him.

During our trips to Branson we always stopped by to visit with them, and had many laughs and fun times being with them.

It's a very sad time for Lucy and I to know that our dear friend is no longer with us, but we take comfort that Bill now sits with his Lord and Savior.

Ellen we send our deepest sympathy and condolences to you and your family during these difficult days without Bill at your side. We know that you will find comfort with your Lord God through the days ahead as we offer our thoughts and prayers to Bill and to you and your family.

Lovingly,

Terry & Lucy Trump
