Charlene (Char) Milligan Crofoot of The Woodlands died unexpectedly at her home on October 14, 2011.
She was born May 18, 1946, near Pulaski, New York. She earned a bachelor's degree in education and completed graduate work in psychology at what was then called the State of New York College at Oswego.
Char's career was diverse, ranging from teaching to management positions. She especially enjoyed working in the hospitality field. She was employed by the Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center for seven years. At the time of her death she was on the staff at LaToretta Lake Resort and Spa.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dewey Crofoot, in 1986.
Moving to The Woodlands from the Washington, D.C. area in 1988, she quickly made friends and became an active member of Northwoods Unitarian Universalist Church. She served on numerous committees and volunteered her help in many ways.
A memorial service honoring the life of Char Crofoot will be held on November 19 at 3:30 p.m. at Northwoods Unitarian Universalist Chruch at 1370 North Millbend in The Woodlands.

Char, you were a star that shined bright everyday and brought a smile to many faces. You will be greatly missed. Rest in peace, lady.
