Funeral services for Marjorie Eleanor Gipson, age 82, of The Woodlands will be held on Friday, August 19, 2011 at 2 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church with Father Jerald Hyche officiating. Interment will follow in Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, August 18, 2011 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home.
Marjorie was born April 29, 1929 in New Orleans, Louisiana and passed away on August 15, 2011 in The Woodlands, Texas. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church for 41 years where she was in the choir and a member and president of the Daughters of the King and the Altar Guild. Marjorie was also a member of the Entergy SideLiners Retirement Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Daniel O. Gipson and parents, John and Eleanor Mattingly. Marjorie is survived by her daughters, Jeanne Gipson Reaves and husband Gary of Richmond, TX and Janet Gipson Boswell and husband Mike of Magnolia, TX; son, William Gipson and wife Lynell of Conroe, TX; brothers, John Mattingly and wife Vi of Pensacola, Florida and Paul Mattingly and wife Frances of Fort Worth, TX; grandchildren, Rebecca Palumbo and husband Joe, Emily Smith and husband Jason, Mary Katherine Engle and husband Jonathan, John Boswell, Beth Ann Boswell, Laurie Moe and husband Jason, Kristy Parker and husband Steven and Michelle Loucks and husband Justin; great grandchildren, Chelsea Palumbo, Trey Palumbo, Hunter Smith, Chloe Smith, Jonathan Engle Jr., Michael Engle, Parker Moe, Lillian Parker, Hudson Parker, Ava Loucks and Jude Loucks. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Palumbo, Jason Smith, John Boswell, Jonathan Engle, Mike Boswell, Gary Reaves, Raymond Gipson and Glen Gipson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions may be made to the St. James Episcopal Church Choir, 1803 Highland Hollow Road, Conroe, TX 77304.
