Antonio "Tony" Bastianelli
AGE: 92 • Blackwood
Antonio Bastianelli, "Tony" of Gloucester Twp., NJ, formerly a long-time resident of Blackwood, NJ, as well as South Phila., PA, passed away on Jan. 26, 2017 at the age of 92 years. He was the devoted husband of the late Mary who predeceased him in 2011 after 63 years of marriage.
Beloved father of Mike Bastianelli (Geri) of Hammonton, NJ, and Joe Bastianelli (Joyce) of Gloucester Twp., NJ. Loving grandfather of Andrea Vreeland (Josh) of Smithville, NJ, Anthony Bastianelli of San Diego, CA, and Marissa Bastianelli of Gloucester Twp. Proud great-grandfather of Eva and Ana Vreeland. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Angelina Greco and Rosa Volpe and one brother, Cosmo Bastianelli also predeceased him.
Tony was a proud U.S. Army WWII Veteran, where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge and the Battle of France. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He was a retiree of the 7-Up Corporation in Conshohocken, PA where he worked for many years. He enjoyed throwing darts and playing pinochle.
Viewing will be Thursday, February 2, 2017, 9:15 AM - 10:15 AM at Earle Funeral Home, 122 W. Church St., Blackwood, NJ 08012. His Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Hope Parish/St. Agnes Church, 701 Little Gloucester Rd., Blackwood. Interment with his beloved wife will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Chews Landing, NJ. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory would be appreciated to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
