On July 8, 2017, of Oaklyn, NJ. Age 88 years. Husband of the late Dorothy Pierce (nee Rowand). Father of David (Cheryl) Pierce and Linda (Robert) Charney. Grandfather of Nicole Pierce, Diane Charney, Julie Pierce, Bob Charney and the late Dawn Steinbiss. Great grandfather of four.
Charles was a 1947 graduate of Audubon High School. He graduated from Drexel University in 1961 with a Bachelors of Science Degree and in 1968 with a Masters of Business Administration Degree. He retired from RCA after working over 40 years. Charles was a lifelong active member of the Camden County Boy Scouts until three years ago. He was also a member of the Audubon United Methodist Church for 67 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Wednesday evening 7 to 9 PM at the FOSTER-WARNE FUNERAL HOME, 250 White Horse Pike, Audubon, NJ. Funeral service and interment will be private.
The family requests contributions in his name be made to the Audubon United Methodist Church, 314 W. Graisbury Ave., Audubon, NJ 08106 or Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Dr., Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053.
Charles' family is grateful to the staff of the United Methodist Communities-Pitman (Memory Support Unit) for their love and care for him the past year.

I was a contemporary of Charlie in Scouting. He was a true promoter of Scouting and a good mentor. I will miss him as will others in Scouting.
