Suddenly, on January 20, 2017 of Berlin, NJ. Age 73 years. Beloved husband of Leslie (nee Cutler). Loving son of the late Carl Auwarter and Ruth (nee Downes). Dear brother of Carl Auwarter and Caroline Sleeter. Ed was a member of Tansboro Fire Company and NJ Forest Fire Service. He was a Thoroughbred Horse Trainer at Philadelphia Park, Meadowlands, Garden State Race Tracks and owns Little Timber Ranch Tansboro, NJ. The family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday morning 9:30AM-11:00AM at the COSTANTINO FUNERAL HOME 231 W. WHITE HORSE PIKE BERLIN, NJ 08009. Memorial Service 11:00AM. Cremation and interment will take place privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions to American Disabled Veterans Foundation 1020 19th St. Suite 475 Washington, DC 20036 would be appreciated. So saddened to just now here of Eds passing . Although we did not see much of each other in recent years , Ed and Leslie were very true Friends . Will always remember Eds horse won first race at Garden State Park at the re-opening of the track . And myself and Leslie with the Dogs and the Dog shows, the German Shepherd Dog Clubs we mutually participated with . May the Lord above grant him eternal peace .

eddie was a true gentleman a great horseman and always a friend he never had an unkind word nor would he never forget a needed hug or share a funny story to cheer you up his brother gave me my trainers test in 1985 and we became friends from there the racetrack in heaven has taken another greatone condolences to all family he will be missed by all Jeanne vuyosevich kehoe and ken kehoe of sunset meadow farm

The world has lost a good man. Ed was always very helpful to us whenever we needed him, especially with transport of youngsters to and from farms and the track. Don and I are very sorry for the Auwarter family's loss. We miss him. - Jane

Myuncle Ed is the reason of who iam today. We shared a passion for antique tractors . He taught me so many techniques on how to troubleshoot problems on them. I could tell him anything and he never judged. I have so many memories with him and my Grandfather. He eas my godfather. His wife Leslie is my god mother.i will miss him each and every single day!I feel closer than ever to his wife Leslie. They are my rock
