I close my eyes and I can hear that operatic aria whistle coming from Mrs. D'Antonio as she swept Grandmom's piazza-like kitchen on Lincoln. A wrap-around porch, a fig tree, chickens. (I think I recall chickens.) Sunshine. I always remember sunshine, regardless of the weather, as long as Mrs. D'Antonio was around.

I met Renada, and Dan only a few times when visiting my cousins Evie and Walt. Grenada was the sweetest person. I felt with one conversation, as if we were friends forever. Dan , a perfect gentleman, in every way. My deepest condolences to the entire family. I am so sorry for your loss. I understand the pain you are all feeling. My heart goes out to all of the family. I feel as if I know the entire family. My sweet cousin Evie, spoke so highly of the entire family. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this very difficult time. Patricia Ann Chico.

Growing up as a kid in the sixties the D'Antonio's house was to me my Home away from home.
