My mother, Ruth (Barr) Schumacher and Delta were childhood friends. They grew up on adjoining farms in Selvin and attended school together. They remained life long friends. My mother thought so much of Delta and cherished her friendship with her. I wanted to send my sympathy to the France family and thank you for your mother's friendship with my mother.

I got to know Delta while I was caring for Dr. France. They were such a loving couple and you could tell they were the loves of each other’s lives. I still have the photo album Delta gifted to me to keep my patients pictures in. She was a truly amazing women!

I will always remember her stories. She was one of the wisest people I've had the pleasure of knowing. The way her face lit up when she heard music or we sang together will be with me always. No one could beat her at trivia. I only wish I had known her longer. I am truly a better person for knowing her. Until we meet again. I love you Delta.
