She enjoyed going places, like shopping at Goodwill and eating out at Long John Silver's. She also enjoyed going to Tell City to see Cindy at Herbs and Health Care, LLC. She owned a 2007 Dodge Charger which she was very proud of. Deanie also collected dolls and had 75 to 100 dolls. She also enjoyed riding and driving her Rhino UTV.

She had been an abstractor for a title company.

In addition to her parents, Deanie is preceded in death by her husband, Ira Denver "Pete" Carter and her companion of 24 years, Donald "Donnie" Downey.

Deanie is survived by her daughter, Tonya Pershing and her husband, Chris; granddaughter, Miranda Davis and her fiancé, Donnie Phelps; great granddaughters, Jaden Rose and Jalyn Davis; and great friend, Ernie Blythe.

A private funeral service will be held on Friday, March 27, 2020, with Pastor Carl Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Rockport, Indiana.
