You were a good friend. We lost touch way back in the 70's. I tried to find you so many times. I haven't seen you since your dads passing in 73(?)

My Brother,
I want to thank you for being the rarest kind of friend, one who always allowed me to be myself without pretense. You were a friend who knew what a complete fool I could be at times but loved me anyway. Overtime we became not just friends but brothers. My prayers are with your three beautiful girls. Darlene was your angel. You told me that many times before you ever got sick. She was that much more your angel when this terrible illness got hold of you. You were so proud of Joelle going to Ithaca College and having a successful career and beautiful family. You were so happy that Danni became a teacher like her mom. You were crazy about your grand children. I'm so happy for you and Joelle that you were able to hold Nicholas. The way you loved your family was just one of the things I loved about you brother. Your sense of humor was another, maybe because it was a little bit twisted like mine. I would barely get in the car and we would be laughing our fool heads off then you would say "It's gonna be a bad night..we're having too much fun now". But we never had a bad time together brother, even if we were just "being creepy" as Sherri would say and sitting at Dunkin donuts having a cigar, a cup of coffee and solving the worlds' problems. Your incredible generosity was another thing I loved about you. You always gave more than you took. Even at your funeral I came out ahead Joey. I brought you one cigar that I knew you loved but I took two from your humidor (I took one for my father because I knew you would want him to have it). I could keep going forever...it kind of feels like if I keep writing I don't have to let you go. But we all have to let you go brother. Rest in peace.
I miss you, I love you and I will never forget you.

I'm at a loss for words. Joe was Dad's best friend which made us all family. After Dad passed Joe stepped in and was always there for us. When I sit and think of Dad you were always part of the memories. All of you guys traveling all over for the baseball games and of course the superbowl parties. I personally will miss the talks that you and I have had and you always speaking up for me and protecting me as if I was your daughter. Darlene, Joelle and Danni thank you for sharing him with our family. I pray that God helps you to find comfort during this time. R.I.P Joe you will never be forgotten.

Joe was like a 2nd father to me. He helped me during my most difficult life challenges and was always there to share his experiences, knowledge, time and laughter. I will always treasure the many trips taken, laughs enjoyed, and long talks about life. May God bless you, Joe, and comfort all those who mourn your passing. May He also hold his amazingly wonderful and angelic wife and two beautiful daughters in His arms during this time. With much love and sadness, R.I.P.
