John Renzoni Obituary

RENZONI John Anthony Renzoni of Rutland, Vt., passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, February 24, 2009, after a most courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Bridgeport on December 10, 1929 to John and Rozaria Renzoni. In 1950, he married his sweetheart, Esther Sartarelli and they shared the next 59 years together, fulfilling their dreams. He was retired from Allied Signal. He is survived by his loving wife, Esther Renzoni; his two daughters, Teri Austin of Killington and Joann Medina of Derby, four grandchildren, Kate and Erika Austin and Nathan and Joshua Medina; and "the best" sons-in-law, Ken Austin and Dimas Medina. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Primo and Silvano Renzoni; and son, John P. Renzoni. He is survived by three brothers and three sisters whom he loved dearly, Raymond Renzoni and Stella Cavaliere, both of Trumbull, Antoinette Smeraglino and Thomas Renzoni, both of Florida, Genevieve Malota of Seymour, and Dominick Renzoni of Stratford; as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews. We will all miss him. A memorial visitation will take place on Sunday, March 8, 2009 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Dear Aunt Esther,Terri,Joanne and families-We have so many wonderful memories of Uncle John-His wit and humor, his love of life, dining together in Ct.-the way he could always fix dads lawnmower or anything else that was broken. My favorite memory is Dad(Brother Ray) and Uncle John playing cards-it was better then watching a broadway comedy show! They would tell me stories of their youth-how dad once lowered Uncle John into a snakepit to get berries to sell during the great depression and all their mischievous adventures.Uncle was a wonderful gem that we all loved and treasured . Our deepest sympathy.

Dr. J & family,
Dr. R was the best. I'll never forget him coming in with his dog doing tricks for us, especially the quarter trick. He got a kick every time we remembered the "child kidnapping" story. Because I have his sign on my wall, (John Renzoni 145 Jackson Ave, Stratford, CT 06497) next to the oil can filler tool -he will always be a part of our business and remembered in a special way.
My love & prayers, Joey

To Aunt Esther, Terri and Joann, I'm sorry that Uncle John is has left you, but he's at peace in the Lord's hands now along with Little John. I have many fond memories of him, especially his one liners. To this day I still remember him telling me when I was trying to help him fix something at our house, and screwing it up, "Jefferino, you wanna help? DON'T HELP!" I still crack up that and other things he used to say. (I posted here a couple of days ago and it didn't take. I probably didn't push the right buttons.) Love to you all, Jeff

The gathering at John's favorite Italian Club was great guys. It seamed quite appropirate. Paul and I are not the type to get up and speak but the thoughts of John and how special he was to us went through my mind. Of course his jokes were great, but what we enjoyed the most was sitting on his front steps, and visiting on those nice summer nights. We will miss him greatly.

I have the most beautiful biscotti jar in my kitchen because during a visit to the Renzoni household I mentioned how beautiful it was. Both John and Esther insisted I take it with me, no wasn't an option. Such a giving and loving family , the traits have been passed to the whole family as was witnessed at the memorial at the Italian Club on March 1. Oh by the way John, thanks for seeing to it that I won the 50-50 drawing !!! Helen Hill

Please accept my condolences. Your Dad and mine, Arnold Kirbach (who passed away on Feb. 22, 2009) shared a room at Mountainview for a time. Although I never had a chance to speak to your Dad, I could tell he was certainly well loved and respected by all of you. My prayers to your Mother as well.
(Heidi always brought joy to us and a sense of normal to the room - thanks for bringing her to visit)

To my cousins Joann and Terri..
Your father will always be in my heart. I have many fond memories of him growing up. He always made me laugh..even when asking to pull his finger :-) One thing I will always be grateful to him for was when Tammy was in the hospital and he was in bed himself with his back problems...he still opened his house for us so my parents could be closer to the hospital. I am glad I was able to call him not long ago to tell him I love him.
