I learned about Chuck's passing just a short time ago. His dad was our family doctor in Leland. His Mom and my Mom were Sandwich High School classmates in the class of 1932 and the best of friends. Chuck and I played together when we were kids in Sandwich at his grandmother's home a block from ours. We played basketball together as rivals for Leland and Sandwich in 1963 while our families were at the game together. We worked in the maintenance department together at Sandwich Community Hospital for my dad when we were teenagers. I last saw him at my Mom's funeral in 1984. I have thought of him often over the years. My deepest sympathy to Connie, Janice, and all of his family. I have the fondest memories of Chuck. R.I.P my friend.

I, as also a retired DeKalb Police Officer, offer my condolences to Connie and Chuck's family. He was always fun to be around and cared about people. I remember his office when he was in the detective division, it was always a mess, but Chuck always knew where anything was. Chuck was a giving person. He lent me a bed, mattress, and sheets when I retired and moved my wife to Florida and I stayed in Dekalb to sell my house. He will be missed but not forgotten!

Chuck was one of the best friends while we were neighbors, and was a second father to my daughter Tonya. Our family has great memories of our times spent together in the old neighborhood. Sorry we drifted apart after we moved out of state. We will never forget the very fond memories!
