Edward "Ed" Lynch Sr., 78, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, in Aurora, Colo. He was born June 5, 1937, in Ganado, Ariz., to Thomas and Leona Lynch. Ed was raised in Sanders, Ariz. He was born to Honágháahnii (One who walks around Clan) and born for Kinhchii'nii (Red House Clan). He was a 53-year resident of Farmington.
Ed had a long career with BHP Billiton and retired after 33 years, in 1996. Aside from his career, Ed was a generous and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was truly a man with a heart of gold, who will be greatly missed. He knew what mattered most in his life, his family. He touched everyone he came across, in one way are another.
Ed was an avid outdoorsman. He loved more than anything to fish, hunt and go camping. He also enjoyed spending time with his wife of 56 years, his four children, grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. His contagious smile and laugh will be forever missed, but never forgotten.
Ed was preceded in death by his brother, Justin Steven Lynch.
He is survived by his wife, Kathey Lynch; sons, Thomas Lynch and Edward (Christine) Lynch Jr.; daughters, Toni Bagley (John) and Lisa Chisman (Les); brothers, Tom Lynch and Johnny Lynch; sisters, Maryeona Watman and Grace Monarco; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 10 at Crossroads Community Church, 2400 N. Butler Ave. in Farmington, with Pastor Dave West officiating. A private family viewing will be at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at memory Gardens, 6917 E. Main St. in Farmington. A reception will follow at Crossroads Community Church.
