Janice was my first supervisor as an MFT. I describe her as someone whose lap I wanted to crawl up on and just have her hold me. She was so full of love, understanding and generosity. She will always live in me as I am part of her legacy of love.

I am so saddened to hear of Janices passing. I was lost and adrift when I found her and the PAL which was a blessing from day one. Janice and her empathy knowledge and just pure loving acceptance brought me back from the edge. I will be forever in her shadow and debt for the blessing of knowing her. Using the knowledge and tools she taught me, I have spent the past years passing on what she provided to others that cross my path the will never get the honor of meeting her.

Dave, Shelby, Paige and David,
Your Mom sent me a letter Sept. 5, 2012. I keep it on my desk so I can see her handwriting...it's how I keep her close. I know you miss her every day. I think of her almost daily...ask her to be with me in my work...remember her laughter, her generosity and her insatiable need to create. I hope you all have a fabulous holiday season. Your Mom will never be forgotten by so many she touched in Love. Blessings, Malia Doss

Janice was the first therapist I met when we moved to the South Bay, As a newly licensed therapist, I found her generosity to me and her compassion for her clients inspiring. I am thankful to have had her as a mentor and friend, and especially grateful for having had the opportunity to work with her and learn from her.
My sincerest condolences for her family and friends and all those who loved her.

With her curious nature, insatiable need for a “Let's Go” adventure and her brave spirit, Janice inspired, encouraged and supported many to do better and be better. I'm thankful to have had her in my life and grateful that my Dad had many years of love, happiness and a partner to explore and journey with. Dad, Paige, Shelby and David; May you find peace in her passing and comfort knowing her spirit still lives. In her own words, “Believe in whatever is best for you and have the wisdom to know the difference”.

My love and deepest sympathy to Dave, Paige, Shelby, David, spouses/partners, grandkids and great-grand-kids. Janice was one of a kind...remarkably special...and a gift to me from God. I was one of her interns and I know God put me in her path. She took me in like a Momma Bear and molded me, taught me, nurtured me and guided me. She is forever in my matrix and it is my very great honor to carry forward her light and love to those in need. May God send you comfort, support and light in your terrible loss and may you find comfort in knowing not only has she now touched the face of God but she continues to spread Light through all who knew her. We are all so very lucky.

Dearest Janice. How I will miss you. A second Mom to everyone. Always there to listen. And so fun to have cocktails with at the Mermaid among other haunts;) My number 1 memory is Shelby's bachelorette in Catalina. At lunch they served us Guldens with the Pastrami Sanwiches. You asked for some, and because they didn't have it, you went and bought a bottle just to know I would actually eat! You knew this Jewish American Princess very well! I will keep an eye on Shelby. She's strong, you raised her well. Sending all my Love to your Family. Be in Peace. Dana

Janice was more than a best friend of 30 years; she was an amazing person. She touched everyone that had the privilege of knowing her. Her curiosity, intellect, creativity, compassion, love and generosity are just a few of the attributes that endeared her to all.
Her passing leaves a void in my life, and in the hearts of everyone who knew her.
I will always remember our adventures, to the Amazon Jungle, the many times to Catalina Island, and the last space shuttle from Kennedy Space Center, to name a few.
My prayers are with her family.

Janice made a wonderful contribution to the world! Her work with clients (especially those with anxiety) was inspirational and improved untold lives. We at the Center for Counseling, Recovery, & Growth were very honored when Janice chose us to take over Coast Counseling Center when she retired. Her baby, the Panic Assistance League (PAL), continues here at CCRG every Tuesday at 7:30--Janice began this outreach for those with panic disorder over 25 years ago. Janice will be sorely missed by so many!

My dear, amazing friend, you touched my life in ways that no other has. When I saw your picture, this morning, in the paper I was hit with a tremedous sadness. You see, you saved my life. Without your help and guidance I would have given up years ago. I have lost someone that can never be replaced in my life and the world has lost a truly special person. My thoughts are at a loss. I will miss you and the fact that you were a phone call away will effect me the rest of my days. I love you, my friend, until we meet again, and I know we will, you will stay in my heart forever!
