Gordie, Bill, Jim, & Elaine:

I am so very sorry to see that your mom has passed. She has always held a very special place within my heart. ...Ever since our years in Twinbrook as youngsters.

As we have not been in touch for some time now, you may be wondering how I learned of her passing. She has turned up in my dreams and popped into my thoughts frequently of late. Yesterday morning, I awoke from a very pleasant "visit" with both her and your dad. I think this is the fourth time she has visited my dreams in the past month. Since yesterday, your folks have been constantly on my mind. Subsequently, I decided to "google" her name & address. Her obituary immediately came up.

I love the accompanying photo. That's the Mrs. Fitzgerald I knew & love. I've always considered her my first mentor. When I was a child, she encouraged me to write & draw. We had many chats in her Twinbrook kitchen. So many fond memories! We wrote periodically & exchanged Christmas cards for years. And, I was fortunate to have been able to visit her in CA a couple times. I believe I first met her in 1957 or 58. It amazes me to know that was sixty years ago. WOW! The day the Fitzgeralds moved to CA was one of the three saddest days of my childhood: the other two being, the day the Fentons left and the day we moved from Twinbrook.

I hope her final years were joyful and her passing was a gentle one.

God BLESS her memory, her soul, & her entire family, always.

Sincerely,
Kim Harper

Jeanie,it meant so much to me,to be with your children, grandchildren, family and 15th street school friends.
One of the most memorable moments I shall treasure always,
was that afternoon in your home.We shared many stories, had
lots of fun.....laughed,cried as we remembered the best parts
of our lives with you.I shall miss your Christmas cards but will remember you always.

Love,

To Jean's Family: I am sad that Jean is no longer with us. I have many special and happy memories of her. I'm glad I was able to keep in contact with her after our teaching days at 15th St. I'll make sure I go down to the Acapulco Restaurant and toast her with a margarita because that is what we did on a regular basis along with Jackie Shaw! Sincerely, Bonnie Grider

Mrs. Fitzgerald,
May you rest in peace!
My favorite teacher from elementary school (5th grade), always remembered her with kind thoughts.
