Sharon Peters Obituary

Sharon K. (Box) Peters

Sharon K. (Box) Peters of Torrance California passed away on October 13, 2011 at the age of 66. Sharon was born November 29, 1944 in Santa Paula, California. She met and married her sweetheart, Don Peters in Ventura California in 1962. Don and Sharon moved to Torrance, California in 1970, where Sharon worked as a claims specialist for TRW and was a Business Owner/Partner of S&W Diesel Inc. with her husband in Wilmington, California. Sharon spent much of her free time helping others as she was a volunteer for the Torrance Police Department, Animal Disaster Team Member, a Red Hat Lady and she spent 18 years actively involved in girls softball as a coach, manager, score keeper and the biggest cheerleader. Sharon also enjoyed sharing time with family and friends, camping, boating, hiking, riding her Jet Ski at the Colorado River and spending time with her dogs Kenya-Rose and Patches. Sharon is survived by her Husband of 49 years, Donald L Peters; her daughter, Janna K Masi; son-in-law Scott Masi; grandchildren, Ryan and Austin and her sister, Linda Towne. It is said "There are only two ways to live your life. One as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle." Sharon chose to appreciate the miracles she saw in everything. She loved life and there was nothing she wouldn't do for the very large network of people (and animals) that she loved. All those that knew Sharon have heard her distinctive and jovial laugh. She believed that a day without laughter was a day wasted. Even as grief is the price we pay for love, we mustn't forget to laugh. Sharon's life will be celebrated Friday, October, 28th 2011 at their home from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers Sharon and family would like donations made to the Ankylosing Spondylitis Foundation of America. Spondylitis Association of America, PO Box 5872, Sherman Oaks, CA 91413. We shall always remember your infectious laugh that made everyone around you, laugh with you. You had such a great sense of humor that made everyone enjoy being around you. We loved all the water ski trips and had so much fun whenever we were all together. So many memories that we still hold in our hearts and will truly miss that fun-loving person. Wishing we would have stayed closer these past years to enjoy the enrichment of your laughter and friendship. The world has lost a little bit of the humor that our lives so badly need, by losing you.

Sharon: You have been an awesome neighbor and a very dear friend. I will miss your smile, your laughter, and your friendship dearly. I am so very glad that I have been blessed to live next door to you, Don, and Janna in a neighborhood where you can go outside and know and talk to your neighbors. I greatly miss that. You will always be in my heart and I want to thank you for all the fun trips you have included me in on. Everthing you coordinated was always going to turn out with lots of fun, laughter, and great times. You have given me such fond memories. Until we meet again my friend, I Love You and GOD SPEED!
