Dear family, relatives, and friends of Chip,
On behalf of the current "Bean Group" in the Department of Plant Sciences at UC Davis, I would like to convey our most sincere condolences for the passing of Chip. I got to know Chip a few years ago, when I took over the bean breeding program at UC Davis. Chip was a great help with the transition. He was very generous with his time and advice and a great support for professor, staff , and students alike. Above all, he loved beans! He knew how to grow, harvest, and process them He, Bobbie, and Jerry put Elegant Beans on the map, literally and figuratively.

Chip, you were a good man: you will always remain in our thoughts.

Dear Friends, family and especially Bobbi Sue,
I send my condolences to all at this most difficult of times. I met Chip only one time--at a 50th Clarksburg High Reunion. He was an impressive man who was dedicated to work that served to make the world better. He was proud of his marriage, family and friends. The world is better for the goodness of his life and saddened by his passing.

Dear Friends and family, especially Bobbi,

I send my condolences at this most difficult of times. I met "Chip" only once--at the 50th Clarksburg High Reunion. But that one time made a lasting impression. He was dedicated to work that made a difference. He was proud and passionate about his marriage, his family, and friends. He made a positive contribution to all he touched.
