Robert G. Baldwin Obituary

Robert (Bob) G. Baldwin of Woodland passed away on April 18, 2021, at the age of 92. Born February 10, 1929, in Grove, IA, Bob moved to northern California in his early teens. Bob, a Korean War veteran, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in March 1948 and served honorably until March 1952. He spent a total of 18 months at sea aboard the USS Rendova and was awarded the China Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. After his military service, Bob returned to northern California where he worked for Pacific, Gas & Electric for over 35 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Ethel Baldwin; his brother, Dan Baldwin; and his sister, Shirley Rubio (Carrion). Bob is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Birchman and her husband, David; his brother, Ron Baldwin; niece, Sherry Lavarico and her husband, Eddie; nephew, Johnny Rubio; 12 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 14, 2021, at the Holy Rosary Church, 301 Walnut Avenue. Burial with military honors will follow at Monument Hill Memorial Park. Arrangements under the direction of McNary's Chapel.
