Ronald F. Smith SAUGERTIES- Ronald F. Smith, 59, of Saugerties died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, at home. Born Jan. 14, 1958 in Kingston; he is the son of Georgia A. Smith of Kingston and the late John Richard Smith. Ronald served our county in the U.S. Army. He worked locally at De Luxe Packaging in Saugerties for 12 years. Surviving in addition to his mother, Georgia, are his brothers and sisters: Judith, Gary, Richard, Jerry, and Patricia Smith all of Kingston, and Donna Smith-Samouel of Baytown, Texas. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Ron’s wife, Kathleen Smith, died in 2015; his sister, Kathryn Smith, died in 1975; and brother, Daniel Smith, died in 2008. Cremation and memorial arrangements are under the guidance of the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Smith Avenue Kingston. www.jv leahyfh.com. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday 11 a.m. St. Mary’s Church, Kingston. Inurnment with military honors to follow St. Mary’s Cemetery, Kingston.
