Uncle Ralph,
You showed me fireflies for the first time when I was seven years old, while my family was on a visit up north to see you and Aunt Sissy. After dark, you brought me a glass jar to capture the movable glowing lights. By day, you showed me the colonies that thrived in fallen trees and how smart chipmunks could be. I loved your warmth, your kindness, and how you experienced this lovely world. Thank you for these moments.

Travel well into those upper skies and I will keep a watch out on warm summer evenings, awaiting the soft glowing creatures that move through the wooded nights and think of you.

Peace,
Kristin
