What an honor it was to know Billy and spend so many beach days together. We will hold these memories close at Mant's Landing. Lots of love to your family - Liz and Nick Zagorianakos

On behalf of myself (Pamela Pisarri) and the entire Pisarri family (all 5 of us), who all had Mr. Zwoboda as either a teacher or a dean, our heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family for the loss of a very great man. I recall his stern, yet gentle way as a C-D Junior and High School student. Personally, if it were not for his guidance I may not have ended up being the successful person that I am today (he guided me out of trouble toward a better path) and for this I am eternally grateful. God bless you all and know that you are in my prayers for peace and comfort. I truly was saddened to hear .......

As a graduate of the 1973 class of Durham Elementary School, I can say Mr. Zwoboda was still a bit new to our school. But his teaching methods were a welcome difference to much of what we were used to! Class was generally light-hearted & fun! BUT make no mistake, you learned!!! To me,he was also a friend! My favorite teacher of all! I was very sad to hear of his passing! But I have NO doubt he still lives in the hearts of all the students he touched with his incredible personality!

MR. ZWOBODA was a complete true gentleman who took first class, dignity and respect to another level above and beyond what is taught in this game of life.
His character was flawless.
A few moons back in the late 60's, early 70's, I had the honor and privilege to serve as his softball team's bat boy and he insisted, like his teammates, I too, could call him by his nickname, "HAWK".
He towered over me and his teammates with a million dollar smile second to none.
He could hit the ball a country mile, a magnificent modesty exuding as he crossed home plate following another home run. I would hand him his bat and he would put his hand on my head and guide me out of harm's way, back to the dugout where his team continued to celebrate.
He was elegant and eloquent, filled with
a unique powerful passion as he helped us all swing for the fences. He exuded strength with a trustworthiness and fairness for all, all the while, providing the perfect example of citizenship.
Thanks to Mr. ZWOBODA, our abilities soared toward a higher vision and transcended to greater heights. He helped bring out the HAWK in all of us. LONG LIVE HAWK. LONG LIVE OUR GREAT LEADER, MR. ZWOBODA.
