Elizabeth A. Soroka, 84, passed away on June 14, 2018 at Claire Oaks in Bartlett. She was born on May 17, 1934 in Chicago the daughter of Anthony & Sophia Erikson Loren. Elizabeth was a 1952 Graduate of Siena High School. Elizabeth and her late husband of 37 years, Richard Soroka, lived in Schiller park for 25 years, at which time she was a member of St. Beatrice Church, she was the President of the Ladies Guild. In 1979 she Graduated from Northeastern IL. University with a Bachelor's Degree. She worked for the Chicago Auto Show prior to her retirement. A fiercely independent women, Elizabeth built her home in the Del Webb Community in Elgin. She will be greatly missed by all of her favorite shipping places and friends. She loved doing puzzles and reading. While living here in Elgin she attended St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Survivors include her 3 children: Rick & Lori Soroka, Cyndi & Greg Rushin and Karen & Randy Leffelman; grandchildren: Emma, Derrick, Stephen, Robert, Garrett and Jackie, a brother Don Loren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her dog Misty. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 215 Thomas More Dr., Elgin. Entombment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside. Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of mass.
