WHEATON - Marilyn B. Stewart, 77, passed away December 1, 2018. Beloved wife of Douglas; loving mother of Elizabeth (Jamie), Mary (Angel) and Helen; proud grandmother of Daniel, Mariana, Isabel and Emma. Marilyn was born in Lynn, MA on April 18, 1941, the oldest child of Fred and Ann Babb. At the age of 15, along with her family, she moved to Florida. Marilyn graduated from Pompano Beach High School in Pompano Beach, Florida in 1958 and went on to get a nursing degree at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. Although she practiced nursing for only a brief time, she remained committed to the care of others throughout her life. She was in the service of Christ for over 50 years, serving alongside her husband, with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students, in Bolivia, Argentina, Mexico and the United States. In each of these countries, she made a home for her family where others were always welcome. She came to love Latin America deeply. She was respected as a spiritual director, a true follower and servant of Christ, a mother in the faith to many in her local church, and countless other places around the world. She was passionate about helping women find their dignity and calling from God. She loved to welcome people into her home and show joyful hospitality to them. She was a loyal and loving friend to many. She enjoyed birdwatching, bicycling, walking, gardening, traveling and serving God with her husband, Doug, to whom she was married for 54 years. She took great delight in being with her children and her grandchildren, doing things to serve them and bring joy to their lives. She lived a life led by her love of Christ and commitment to serving others. She was deeply loved and respected by family and friends and will be greatly missed. With her passing, Heaven has gained, and Earth has lost. Visitation will be at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Road (one block east of Naperville Road), Wheaton from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M on Friday December 7, 2018. The Memorial Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton, 715 N.
