Norman J. Busch Sr. of Elgin Services for Norman J. Busch Sr., 73, former many year resident of Carpentersville, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, at the Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St., West Dundee. Burial will follow in the River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home. Born Sept. 11, 1932, in Forest Park, the son of Rienhold and Christina (nee McPherson) Busch, he died Friday, Sept. 23, 2005, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Hines, Ill. He was a resident of the Carpentersville-Elgin areas for 48 years. Norm was a proud American veteran. He served in the Air Corp during the Korean War. Norm was a member and past Commander of Elgin VFW Post #1307 (2001-2004), past Commander of Carpentersville VFW #5915 (1983-1984), past Commander of the VFW 5th District State of Illinois (1988-1989) and past Illinois State Department Commander VFW (1995-1996). During his residency in Carpentersville, Norm served as a Carpentersville Volunteer Fire Fighter from 1970 until 1982. He is survived by his seven children, Mary Ann (David H.) Gunderson of Elgin, Norman J. Jr. (Julia) of DeKalb, Barbara A. (Robert) Runge of Chemung, Ill., John (Debbie Gentile) of Carpentersville, Tony C. (Tina) of Huntley, James (Lori) of McHenry and Edward of Carpentersville; 12 grandchildren, Tracy and David J. Gunderson, Norman III, Joni and Kate Busch, Heather and Barbara J. Runge, Anthony Busch, BriAnne, Anthony J. Ashley and Hannah Busch; a brother, Donald of Phoenix; his special friend and longtime companion, Lois Martini of Elgin; his former wife, Joanne Busch of Carpentersville; many nieces, nephews as well as many state wide friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; his three brothers, Reinhold, Glen and William Busch; his sister, Marion Davis; and a granddaughter, Keri Nicole. Please omit flowers.
