Mary and Lois, I am so sorry to hear that your Mom died. I remember her as an amazing 4-H leader. So many projects, so much fun.

Do you remember the barnyard skit she and one of the moms dreamt up for a 4-H contest? Cast incuded a sheep (me), a horse, and dogs--all costumed and singing.

In 4-H your Mom was always good-natured, kind, practical, organized, and very skilled. There was something easy going and carefree about everything she did, yet there was always focus.

Thanks to her, I learned a lot, had fun, and am grateful to have shared in that part of your life with her. Sending you and the rest of your family my prayers and condolences on the loss of your dear Mom.

As the winter season would approach and I would chat with Mary one of my first questions would be, when is your Mom going to be here?
I so looked forward to her visits. We would get together for breakfast or lunch, or go to a yard sale. Sometimes, Mary would invite members of our Ladies poker group for a bite to eat with a few bottles of wine! Ruth would talk to us about her family or chuckle when we told her a story about ours!

She enjoyed the view of the water from Mary's condo, the warmth of the Florida sun and when I would ask her how long she was staying she would always reply , for as long as Mary will have me ... but then spring would appear and she would say, I am ready to go home.

This year I had the honor of having dinner at Duffy's with Ruth and Mary a day or two before she flew home. It was different this year, she articulated how important and how ready she was to go home ... I will miss her visits, the twinkle in her eye, her smile, her grace and our glass of wine together !

Rest In Peace Ruth Wollney, may your memory and belief in the lord help to heal your family so only the the beauty of your life remains!

With heartfelt condolences,
Sherry Meltzer
