Alice Marie Burns Jamieson, 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 21, 2021, at Messiah Lifeways in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, with family at her side. She was the widow of Robert A. Jamieson, her only love who preceded her in death in 1988. Born in Philadelphia at St. Agatha’s Parish on February 27, 1929, Alice was the youngest daughter of Leo Burns and Helen Curley; predeceased by siblings Jack Burns, Elizabeth Kelly, and Isabelle Mammele. Alice met her husband, Bob, who served in the Navy with distinction in WWII, at a USO dance in 1949 and married in the same year. They settled in Chester County, raised four children – Bob (deceased), Pat (deceased), Tom, and Alex – and owned and operated a family business together for many years. In 1988, Alice embarked on a second career as the lead receptionist at Crawford, Wilson, Ryan & Agulnick law firm in West Chester, Pennsylvania, where she made dear friends and enjoyed decorating the beautiful brownstone office every Christmas. She retired in 2004 and moved to Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, where she thrived independently until the time of her passing. Alice’s greatest passions were cheering for her beloved Philadelphia Eagles, spending holidays and Sunday dinners with family, traveling, trips down the shore, watching action films, reading mystery novels, collecting dolls, shopping QVC, and relaxing with an occasional glass of red wine (with ice). She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law (Tom & Denise Jamieson and Alex & Bernadette Jamieson), nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and cherished nieces and nephews. A graveside service is confirmed at St. Agnes Cemetery in West Chester, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Messiah Lifeways in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, in Alice Jamieson’s name.
