Ruth C. Chambers, an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend passed away at home on June 8, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Born in West Chester PA, on June 29, 1932, Ruth was the daughter of the late Chester and Mildred Chambers. She married the love of her life, Daniel J. Chambers on August 18, 1956. Ruth graduated from West Chester High School in West Chester after which she was employed at Dupont in Wilmington, DE. Ruth also worked with Chester County Voter Services and for a time in the office of Dan’s electrical business, Kehoe Electric. Ruth’s true work in life, her passion and her joy, was her family. Together with Dan, she raised five children, along with three nieces and a nephew. Ruth loved a busy house full of laughter and love. She welcomed many into her home and made each one feel like part of the family. Ruth enjoyed spending time “in the mountains” on the farm in Sullivan County, PA. She also enjoyed watching all kinds of sports and attended as many of her children’s, grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s sporting events that she could. She loved to crochet and play Bingo, and no one will ever forget her apple pies or her potato salad. Ruth was a member of St. Agnes Parish in West Chester, Lake Mokoma Association and the Laporte Women’s Club in Sullivan County PA. Besides her husband Dan, Ruth is survived by her children Patty (Charlie) Hauck, William (Julie) Chambers, Alice (Bob) Carpenter, and Ellen (Chris) Koschak; nieces Kathy (Andy) Lancashire, Lizzy Yoder, Ellen Rulon and nephew Bert (Nancy) Chambers; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved son Danny, as well as her sisters Betty, Mary, and Barbara and her brother Chester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 15th at 10:00 at St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay St., West Chester, PA 19380. Interment in St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Handi-Crafters, Inc., 215 Barley Sheaf Rd., Thorndale, PA 19372 and/or Neighborhood Hospice, 400 E. So sorry for your loss all the Chambers family. I know she was special to Bertie's children. She was what our country is about. Helping, loving, and caring. You will miss her, but cherish all the memories, of which Im sure there are many. God Bless all of you.
