HAYES - Albert Rinda "Al" Hines, 69, died at his home October 13, 2016, with loved ones at his side. Al was retired from civil service as a Contract Administrator, Naval Weapon Station. He was a member of Union Baptist Church, the Achilles Masonic Lodge NO. 281 AF and AM; and the Order of Eastern Star Pocahontas Chapter 103, Williamsburg. Al loved drag racing, especially in his own 1967 Camero and he was a life-long Redskin fan. Al loved his family and his absence in our lives will be deeply missed. May his wonderful spirit live on and may his memory be eternal. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert J. and Sarah M. Hines; step mother, Dallas Hines; father in law and mother in law, James and Christine Thomas; and brother in law, Lowell Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Barbara T. Hines; daughters, Andrea Fuentes (Hector) and Christina Green (Michael); grandchildren, Alexis, Justin and Alyssa; great granddaughter, Kate; brother, Thomas H. Hines (Donna); nephews, Jeremy, Kevin and Chris; and sister in law, Myra Thomas. Funeral services officiated by Reverend Richard Whiteheart will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2016, at Union Baptist Church, Hayes. Interment with Masonic Rites will follow in Gloucester Point Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 16, 2016, from 4:30 until 6:00 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. In Al's memory contributions may be given to the Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue, P. O. Box 9, Bena, VA 23018 or Riverside Walter Reed Hospice, 7358 Main Street, Gloucester, VA 23061.
