Bessie was a mentor to me when I first joined the Abingdon Woman's Club. We delivered Valentines together to the area's nursing homes one year and we often had long conversations on the phone when she was on the "phone committee" and would call me. She was a wonderful lady and I will miss her. Dianne B. Fannin

Mrs. Emory was a dear friend to me, my family, all neighbors on Windy Hill and I daresay to many Gloucester residents as well. When we would go out to run errands or grab a bite, she would ALWAYS meet someone she knew with a smile and a kind word. She loved and was loved by many and I miss her already.
