Oh, Betsy
October 21, 2017
We will miss you!

Several years ago, we invited Betsy to be our featured guest speaker at
our annual meeting / reunion. She gave a riveting lecture, both
substantive and entertaining. Her wealth
of knowledge in colonial culture impressed us all. In reading her obituary, we now realize that she possessed expertise far beyond history. As brilliant as she was, she
"worked the room" as we dined at the Trellis, ensuring that she had answered every question from each EFA member. We send our sympathies to her family.

Anne, Terry and family I am so so sorry for the loss of Betsy . She was probably the most interesting person that I have ever known. I didn't know her long but I admired her for her love of life . She would say look at that sky it is the most beautiful blue color and sometimes I had forgotten to notice things like that and she would remind me . She would always describe in great detail what she saw on her walks through Hilton where she grew up and her walks at the Lions Bridge and Noland trail . She loved nature and all was beautiful to her . She was never negative . She always had nice things to say about the neighbors and people she met on her walks . She was interested in what these people had to say and took the time to listen . She loved her little rambunctious dog and he loved her . She loved her family and was so proud of you Terry . I only really knew her a short time but I will truly miss her .
