Chris and I were friends at DLI. A wonderful guy. I'll miss knowing he was in the world. I'm glad he was with family and friends in the end.

Dear Pat and Family,
I was so sorry to learn about Chris's passing. He was indeed a remarkable young man. He lived an amazingly full life and I know you are so very proud of him. I remember you first sharing, when we were teaching, about his going to the Naval Defense Language Institute. What tremendous gifts he had and shared!

My prayers and thoughts are with you during this time and season. I am sorry that we have been out of touch. Please know that I hold very special memories of you. God bless and surround you with His presence.

Dear Schroen family, I was shocked and heartbroken to read of Chris' passing. I was Chris' jr and sr year guidance counselor at Bruton HS, and i adored this child! He held a beautiful steady smile (I asked him once if he smiled in his sleep!), and his quiet nature, respectfulness toward staff members, and resourcefulness as a bright and ambitious student were unforgettable traits possessed by Chris. He was a teacher's and guidance counselor's dream student, and I am in awe of all he accomplished since graduation. I send love and prayers for his safe, final journey. And I bet he is still smiling...
