I knew Ed from the Hampton Roads Seniors Golf Association. I had the honor and privilege of playing golf with Ed several times. He was always a gentleman and a true sportsman. He was always thoughtful and kind to his fellow players. The last time I played golf with Ed was in 2016. I could barely walk let alone play. I told Ed it would be my last game for at least 6 or more months because I was scheduled for knee replacement. A lot of the guys would have complained that I should not be playing. Not Ed! It was the kind of guy he was. He was a very tough guy with a heart of pure gold. I wish I had known him better; I would have been the better person for it. He was supportive of his fellow players all of the time. It was the last time I would play golf with Ed. I will miss his booming voice cheering on his team mates. He was a real great guy! He will be missed.
