I had the pleasure of knowing & working with Bill in X-43 for numerous years down in NNS. We were the tight knit "Black Team" working many 12 hour shifts during carrier refueling's and at the CRF building between 1994 & 2001. Bill and I worked many a 12 hr shifts together. We often had time to talk and share stories. I remember his good sense of humor and his laugh, his love of wrestling, especially the "Undertaker". He talked often of his daughter and his memories growing up and time he had spent in Hawaii. Bill was a straight shooter and didn't mince words, you knew where he stood on any issue. I last saw Bill when I left the shipyard in 2001, I had imagined him continuing to work in NNS's Nuclear Refueling Dept as he had so much experience. I was very saddened today to see Bill's obituary and thought about him much of this day. My prayers and thought's go out to his daughter Casey, his mother, and the entire Barnes family. May God comfort each of you. I will never forget my co-wiorker & friend Bill Barnes.
