I was saddened to learn of Curtis Overman's passing. I have fond memories of school days at John W Daniel School and Newport News High School with Curtis. We were together in Miss Richardson's class at John W. Daniel Elementary School. I remember our seventh grade class trip to Richmond on the C&O train and his humor in Miss Suttle's English class when we were studying Macbeth at NNHS and the laughs when he was my lab partner in Mrs. Baker's Chemistry Class at NNHS. Curtis was one of a kind. May he rest in peace. Condolences to Margaret and the family.

Curtis was a friend and team mate at NNHS. He helped me with legal work in later years. The passing of a good man is always hard on family and friends but you know he will look over us all until we meet with him again.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Curtis' Family. Although I have not seen him for many years. I have many great memories of Curtis while we were Boy Scouts in Troop 13 down town Newport News in the mid 50's and during our trip to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico during the summer of 1956. The last time I saw him was about 20 years ago when he helped me with a legal problem. Rest in peace my friend. Ron Rogers

My condolences to his Wife and family.
I knew Curt mostly as a Amateur Radio Operator (Ham) and as a close friend at Lafayette Gun Club. We used to shoot together on Wednesday mornings. Curt and I spoke at length about shooting and Ham radio while at the club. I liked talking to him about guns and radios. He will be sorely missed.
