I knew June (and husband Jim) for many years while working at NNPS. They were a great couple! June was an inspiration to me and all who knew her. The world has lost a fine person but Heaven has gained an Angel. Hugs and prayers to the family and all who knew and loved this precious person

June and I met when I was transferred to another school in Newport News. I could tell right away that she was a professional as she was visiting the school and the classrooms. She was interested in what was being studied and the books needed to enhance the students' studies. We also connected as we shared the same health problem. I have thought of her often because of that. Please know that she was an asset to the schools and those who knew her.

Your mom was one of my first mentors when I started working in the Newport News Public Schools. She was amazing! I learned so much about AV and troubleshooting from her to say nothing about learning from a gracious and wonderful teacher. I will always remember her intelligence and kindness and her great sense of humor. She and Gladys Caywood taught me about instruction and librarianship and life! My thought and prayers are with you and your family.
