Larry Thomas Chestnut, 70, of Windsor, VA, passed away Monday, May 14, 2018 in his home surrounded by family. Born on November 28, 1947 in Wilmington, North Carolina, Larry was the son of Eunice Elizabeth Phelps and stepfather William Phelps. He is preceded in death by his brothers James Chestnut, Charles Chestnut, and Terry Phelps. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Martha Anne Chestnut; daughters Christina and husband Brian Edwards and Laura and husband Ray Edwards; grandchildren Emily Edwards and Thomas and wife Jennifer Scobie; and brothers Billy Chestnut, Gary Phelps, and Glen Phelps. A graveside service will take place on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 3:30 pm at Peninsula Memorial Park in Newport News, VA. Riverside-Altmeyer Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
