Margaret is a dear, precious sister in Christ who has now moved on her next field of service in the heavenly quarters. I appreciated Dick and Margaret's collegial friendship and advice they shared as we served together on the Rapppahannock District, their support to my wife as we got married and Betty became a new preacher's wife, and Margaret's smile and cheerfulness. God bless you Richard in this time of transition. No one will miss her more than you.

Betty just commented how Margaret and Elaine DeJong took her under their wings and mentored her as a pastor's wife. Margaret always had a hug for Betty. Margaret was truly a blessing.

Dick, and the Sisson Family,
We remember Margaret so well from the days of the Young Working Adults group at the First Methodist Church in Hampton in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Margaret was a warm, fun-loving, and dynamic member of that group, and a wonderful friend. We are so happy that she met you, Dick, and that she has had such a happy and fulfilling life with you, your children, and in the Methodist churches you have served together.
We send you our love and very sincere sympathy,
Jeff and Sandra Stroud

Mr. Sisson, I want to tell you how much Henderson United Methodist Church UMW appreciated Margaret's enthusiasm for and belief in the United Methodist Women.
I remember a Christmas program that you and she did together that was so impressive. Everything she did, she did with such grace and enthusiasm and it was contagious. Our UMW looked forward to seeing her at meetings. We shall miss seeing her but are grateful for having known her. Our sympathy to you and your family. Ruby Albrite and the Henderson UMW

My dearest mother, I will miss you more than you know. I am writing this note here because I cannot speak without being broken in tears. I will remember many, many happy times we have shared over the course of our lifetime. Camping in the Smoky Mountains, the bear cubs that Lee scared away with his screams when we were walking to the restroom armed only with a flashlight in the middle of the night. You weren't scared of the dark or what would be out there because you had the Lord in your heart and you yourself were a mama bear. I remember those little itchy wool dresses that you dressed me in… they were the style at the time. You took me to Brownie meetings, to practice with the majorettes in the Christmas parade, you were a devout member of the PTA at any school we attended; and there were many schools but your support was never ending. You attended the football games that I cheered at, and the many gymnastic meets that I competed in. You were there for the choral concerts and you sang under your breath and often out loud despite the fact that you couldn't carry a tune if someone put it in a bucket and handed it to you. But I didn't care I was glad that you were there. You helped me with my homework, even when it was hard, you would read the book and do your best to help me to understand. Now that I am attempting to help my teenagers with Algebra II and other subjects I realize just how hard it had to have been for you because I struggle with that now; but because you helped me I do my best to help my daughters in the same way. I remember all of the baking we did together…especially your favorite, those little orange blossom cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies…we would have tea parties with the UMW ladies and we would bring out the silver and polish it to get ready for those special occasions. I now enjoy baking with my daughters more than you know because those are some of my favorite memories from my childhood. You raised me in the church, sent me on youth witness missions, you made sure I learned the Word. For this I will be eternally grateful. You were a good mother, no one could ask for more. I love you dearly and I will miss you immensely. I only wish we spent more time together….there never seems to be enough time…I do find reassurance in knowing that I will see you again. You are not suffering in this worldly body but rejoicing in Heaven in your new body filled with Light and Love!
“Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all.”
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
Honor her for all that her hands have done,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
Proverbs 31: 29-31
With all of my Love, your daughter Kathy
