To Paul's Family,
We will always remember Paul and the many trips we had together. The 1976 trip to Washington, the trip to see the Queen when she came to Virginia, and our trip to DC and on to New York. We have so many good memories. We were co-workers from 1968 until 1978. Paul helped me in so many ways for which I will always be grateful.

Paul loved all things beautiful, music, cats, and art.
We will miss his many stories, that only he could tell.

Your brother was a wonderful man and we will truly miss him.

Our deepest sympathy to the family.

I am so sorry to learn of Paul's passing. I first met Paul as a beginning teacher in Guilford County Schools in 1961. I always appreciated his wise counsel and his dedication to the education and welfare of individuals with special learning needs. We had a great time working on conferences and curriculum for several years. We maintained a working relationship throughout our professional lives and continued to be in touch periodically since he retired.

Paul was a kind, compassionate person who always had a kind word and a willingness to help. He shared his love of music, art, and travel which enriched the lives of many of us. He will be greatly missed by many of us who have known him through the years.

My sympathies to all of Paul's family.

Hearing of Paul's death saddens me. He was among the first persons who welcomed me when I joined the Division for Exceptional Children of the NC Department of Public Instruction in September 1970. He always seemed to delight in using his old black Underwood. When I think of him, I remember his funny stories, passion for detail, love of good music, hearty laughter and gentle spirit. Paul was my friend.

To Paul's Family,

Your family has been in my thoughts and prayers since I read of Paul's death.

I shall always cherish the memories of my time with Paul. He was my co-worker from 1967 until he retired. Paul was a gentleman and a scholar. He played a major role in the improvement of services to exceptional children in the state of North Carolina.

Grace and peace,

Mark Sumner

To Paul's family,

How sad it was to learn of Paul's death. Paul was my friend and co-worker for so many years. There are so many funny and wonderful memories of experiences we shared and people we knew.

Paul loved all of the beautiful things in the world - art, literature, and especially music. Those of us who knew him well appreciated his desire for perfection in everything he undertook.

I will miss hearing about his travels and the interesting people with whom he came in contact. No one had a memory like Paul.

My deepest sympathy to all of the family,
