YORKTOWN - Theodore Charles "Ted" Martin, 59, died Saturday, October 7, 2017. Born in Hampton, he served in the US Army before transferring to the Air Force, retiring in 2008. Preceded in death by his grandparents, Faye and Charles Pickett; survivors include his wife, Laurie Martin; four daughters, Wynter Martin-Hicks, Jasmyn Martin, Kate Andrews, and Kelsey Rodriguez; his parents, Myrtis (Bob) Jenkins and Theodore (Carrie) Martin; two brothers, Steve (Sharon) Martin and Scott Martin; and five grandchildren, Triston, Jayden, Christian, Michael "Amigo", and Rhys. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Monday, October 16, 2017 in the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home chapel. Interment with Air Force honors will follow at 3:00 PM at the Albert G. Horton, Jr. State Veterans' Cemetery in Suffolk. "I've gone to be with the Lord - see you there!"
