Tom was my cousin. I used to stay weekends with him and his mother in Fox Hill when I was a little boy. He taught me chess and magic tricks and we watched movies together. He was like an older brother to me. Most of the things I like and enjoy to this day are because he introduced them to me. The Beatles, James Bond, Tarzan, Dr. Who, Star Trek, Houdini are just a few. He had so many interests and was very knowledgeable about many subjects. He had a great influence on me and I will miss him always. My condolences and sympathies and highest praise to Dawne and his family that cared for him during his illness.

I worked with Tom at Newport News. I always found him to be an honest and trustworthy representative for the City. He was a true professional and did his best to help others. I considered him a friend as well as an associate at work. I am sorry to learn of his passing. My deepest sympathy to his wife and family.

Tom was my boss and a mentor in procurement for 21+ years, but I consider him a friend as well. He could be a quiet soul, keeping knowledge close, but he had much to offer to anyone who really listened. In casual conversation, his unique passion for everything Hollywood, Superman, Broadway stage and The Beatles was phenomenal. I can attest that he loved good food and fine wine, so I was always willing to converse. His mind was a sponge and his heart was gold.

Tom fought such a tough fight from day one of his diagnosis with immeasurable strength and dignity, and will be missed by so many. I extend my heart and sincere condolences to Dawne, all Tom's children and his entire family; my love to you all.

Rest in Peace Superman, fly high!
